Tred Barta

Question to you all, has anyone else watched this guy on Versus. I just watched him in B.C on a goat hunt and was so insulted by his lack of ethics I had to send them an email. Realizing it wont do any good, it did make me feel better. ](*,) ](*,)

Quickly about me. Im from Utah and deer hunt Northeast with rifle and have hunted both spike and open bull elk. I have been a long time lurker and love the web site. :thumb

The "barta way" is a joke. The guy thinks way too highly of himself and his arrogance makes his shows unwatchable.

welcome kinzysdad. So do you just hunt the NE region or are you from here?

yeah, watched him hunt geese one time with a recurve. Pretty sure all he managed to do is shave a few feathers and lose a few arrows. Personally I cant stand to watch him, but then he's not alone on that list.

Bigbuck92. I’m from here. I grew up in Utah County, A.F specifically. I now live in West Valley.

79 and Nonya, I was bothered most by him “sneeking” up to a bush and taking a shot at a white patch. No head ho horns were visible. When he missed, he turned to his left and shot at another sheep which he hit in the leg. When that sheep took off he looked at the camera and said, “I hit him but he took off” He then took another shot at another sheep without trying to locate the one he hit. I just couldn’t believe that an outdoor channel would want to show such a disgusting behavior. Only my 2 cents and humble opinion.

Tred Barta is the ultimate hunter!!!! If you don't believe me just ask him he will tell you :>/ the guy is way to full of himself. I watched him a few times when I had Cable instead of dish. I personally despise the guy and will not watch his show again. Anyone who is that full of himself should be stranded on a deserted Island with his favorite person... Himself :thumb

Dont forget to leave him his recurve and a lifetime supply of arrows......... Of course he'll still starve to death, but then it comes down to survival of the fittest.....

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this guy was a idiot. (@@)

tred barta might be bad, about eithics and is full of himself but no one is crazier then that long haired skunk, ted nugent..he is crazy..watched a hunting show on him...idk he gets too excited..and probably produces a bad image for us, i also dont like how people jump up and down in the woods and scream and high five each other for 5 hours after the harvest of a mature animal....yeah be excited...but dont clear everything else out of the woods with your whooping and hollering, its not a good image.. and really does anybody do that?

Oh believe me I'll never watch another one of his show. The show only brought to light what an unethical moron he is. He gives all hunters a bad name.

I agree with Coloradobuck if you don't like a show with a certain person on it just don't watch it any more. I understand why people get upset with a lot of the shows on the air but it does get kind of old reading such negative posts sometimes. :>/ Maybe we should start a post about our favorite shows and hosts.?? :thumb

Sneekee, I'm sure if we started a seperate post about this subject we'd end up with the same back and forth about individuals ](*,)

For me, I really don't watch any of them. My reasons:
1) I just don't watch a lot of TV.
2) The ones that are shot from luxury blinds over food plots really don't do anything for me. ](*,)
3) A lot of these hunts are hunts that the "every day" guy cannot afford to do. These guys are invited on a lot of hunts by various outfits for advertisement purposes. It gets the land owner/guide services names out there so that they can make money...nothing more. (I have no issues whatsoever with this...that's business...I just don't enjoy watching it much.)
4) I've seen too many questionable things on various shows. (As stated already in this thread)

WITH THAT BEING SAID...I LOVE watching real folks and thier hunts. Those of you that do it on your own, film the hunt, and post it for us to enjoy WITH YOU are the videos I like to watch. :not-worthy

Just my ($$) .

If you re-read all the posts not one person said he wasnt a "nice" guy. unethical, YES.

I watched his show for the first timet he other day and he was hunting turkeys it was horrible. He shot 3-5 arrows from a long ways away into a group of over 100 turkeys while running at them it was the worst thing i have ever seen

AzRednekRabbit
I watched the show with him turkey hunting last night. Same show as in the above post. I agree it was horrible. I was disappointed that VS even showed this kind of unethical hunting. I don't want it to seem like I am putting him down but I was slightly ashamed to be in the same category of "hunter" with him after seein' that . It was the last time I will watch his show.

i haven't seen his show in a while[btw, wonder why its not on outdoor channel?],anyway,i was happy for him when he got his grizz with that recurve.i watched the show more for the tuna fishing which is one of my passions.

seems he's not alone with the inappropriate hunting values....i feel Zumbo has taken some pretty poor shots on tv and just today watched Harold Knight shoot a nice buck through the brush.

Thanks NONYA ,Heck of a buck and nice shooting. The reason for the question is I hunted Arizona this year and this was the first year I have ever felt under gunned with my .338 because of the distances. Either 30ft in the cedars or 700+yds from sidehill to sidehill.I'm thinking of putting together a long range rifle.
Thanks
