I've hunted antelope in the Whitehorse unit three times and have seen some pretty decent muley bucks, the best bucks we saw were along the river. Very remote area, and really not that much hunting pressure for deer, about 53 tags a year for that area. I have accumulated 7 preference points for this area and according to the percent tag book have about 95% chance of drawing. I need to change my hunting tactics for deer though, for years I figured if I walked enough areas I would kick out deer. It seems everything you read these days tells you to get to a high vantage point and glass. I've killed a lot of deer by kicking them out of little draws and canyons but never really have done a lot of glassing. Any advice on tactics on glassing for deer in high desert mountains. Thanks

I WOULD LOVE TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT THE TROUT CREEK MNTS. UNFORTUNATELY I KEEP GETTING THESE LITTLE THANKYOU NOTES FROM ODFW THANKING ME FOR MY APPLICATION FEE, AND GIVING ME YET ANOTHER PREFERENCE POINT. SOME DAY, MAYBE THIS YEAR, I CAN TELL YOU ALL ABOUT THEM SOMETIME IN THE MIDDLE OF OCTOBER. I KNOW THERE ARE SOME HUGE BUCKS IN THE UNIT. I HAVE FOUND SOME REALLY NICE SHEDS, AND HAVE SCENE SOME NICE BUCKS TOWARDS THE END OF AUGUST. AS FAR AS DRAWING A TAG GOES, I'VE HAD A LOT BETTER LUCK DRAWING IN IDAHO AND NEVADA.
