It was a long and cold and snowy and windy along with some other elements that made for an eventful 3days of turkey hunting. The turkeys were acting a little funny, staying pretty quiet and not real active.
We gave a last minute effort to an old spot I used to go and it payed off. He still wasn't much of a talker, he responded just enough to let us get close enough and pull him away from the group for a shot.
My wife Michelle was pretty excited and I was excited for her, I love to see my wife and kids have success!!!
The Bird had a 9 inch beard and 1-1/4 inch spurs.
Enjoy the pics!

A coworker here took a week off expecting to have to work for his bird. When he and his boy pulled into their snowy campsite there were several turkeys walking through it. They decided to hike up a bit and see if they were the same quarry that they had been scouting. Nope they saw several more birds where they had planned to set up the next morning. By 8:00 am My coworker and his boy both had nice toms. They had to spend the next several days finding things to do. I don't feel too bad for them. Several wheeler rides, lots of clay pigeons, and a little spring fishing. Poor guys!
