Uinta Extended Archery Success!

OK, its been a while since I posted anything on the site. This is what I ended up with thought this year and wanted to show him off. Not too big in some peoples minds but a trophy for me none the less. It was crazy luck I got this guy too. I was sitting there on 3 doe when I got busted, one doe just stood there for 15+ minutes snorting and stomping on the ground but none of them ran off. With my extended archery tag, my thoughts were to just take one of these deer so I could put more meat in the freezer (Supply was VERY scarce). After sitting there in a face off for about 30 minutes the doe seemed to lose interest in me and I decided to take one....but just as I start to draw on the doe I hear a crack to my left and this buck stepped out into view. He circled around for just a minute and then started walking away from me again. I wanted to wait for a perfect shot but he kept getting further away. Finally presented me with a 50 yard shot, in previous years this distance would be unethical by my standards to shoot but I have practiced a lot this year and got my group 3" @ 50yds. I let and arrow fly and hit him!
Oh yeah...since this is my first archery kill, I am also looking for a quality taxidermist close to the SLC area. A couple of my friends have had mounts done in the past and they just dont look right. Please send me a PM if you can with info and pics would be great.

Congrats on a great buck! In my opinion, any buck taken with the bow is a great accomplishment. Regardless! Nothing like getting a buck with the bow. I got my first one this year with a bow and I couldn't be happier with him. I'm getting my buck done but it is a guy here in Nephi who does amazing work. But you said you want one up in the Salt Lake area.....let me know if you want some info on him.
