Unit 2b NM Muley Hunt

Drew a tag for this unit for mule deer this year, looks like its Oct 27-31st.. I know from others this is a good unit with some monsters in there, anyone have any advice? Will be going out to learn the lay of the land but assume you would want to hunt along the border of the indian reservation on the east side of the unit, since they manage their deer population so well and pray for a bit of snow to push em down from Colorado.... Not looking for any specific honey holes but just general advice to get me on the right track... Really excited on this one... Don't know if this hunt will be better or my cow hunt on the Valles Caldera (Unit b) about a month later....

Get out and walk. Even if you don't get weather there are some good resident bucks in there and they can be found with a little work. Never had any luck sitting water in that unit but I have had good luck sitting between water holes and bedding areas at first light. No real secret to that unit, just hunt hard and pray for an early snow up north. Good luck and enjoy.
