Vortex Skyline 20-60x80 Spotting Scope and CAMERA ADAPTER

I am looking at getting a Vortex Skyline 20-60x80 Spotting Scope

I am just wondering if anyone has used the MK 1 QR Digital Camera Adapter from vortex with the spotter..

I watched the youtube video demo of the adapter and it looked sweet!!

I liked the fact that you could spot the animal in the scope and then add the camera easily to the adapter rather than all the other ones where when you try to put the camera on you bump the scope off way bad!! So you end up just trying to find the animal in the camera viewfinder.. Hate that!!

So hopefully you guys can give me a better review of the stuff before I fork out all the bucks.. thanks

I have the scope, not the adapter yet. But will likely buy it soon. Does look pretty slick. :thumb

Here is another great web page for info on Digiscoping Adapters http://www.scopetronics.com/ I have a similar set up and use it all the time... here is a pic of a bull over a mile away, the conditions have to be just right and I always use the self portrait mode 3 or 10 sec. to eliminate vibration.

Here is what I have been able to do with my skyline ED and MK1 adapter. The camera is a simple point and shoot Canon Powershot A95. I like the set-up. PM me if you have any questions and if your in Salt Lake and want to see it, let me know and I can let you check it out.

I've got a Canon Powershot A95, now it looks like I only need a spotting scope and adapter to get good shots! Nice pics!

wilecoyote76,

I was super impressed at how the pictures turned out. I set the camera on a 2 second delay so that I could touch the button and leave it alone. Everything was rock steady when it snaps the pictures. Sometimes I can be a little heavy handed. The deer was around 150+ yards.

I can't wait to use it this summer/fall. Here are a few pics that I took freehand before I had the camera adapter. Not bad, just not as sharp.

The deer was at or around 300 + yards

The moose was across a huge canyon, guesstimated 500+ yards.

Here are some pics of mountain goats that I took this afternoon with the above set-up. They were at least 500 + yards away and undisturbed on there winter range.

Heshen,

You'll have to post some pics to the thread when you take some. My next pics hopefully will be of a turkey... I've got to find a couple for me to chase in a month.
