WA 08 cam pics

I think these are wolverines? Not near "society" so I'm thinking they are not dogs. For scale, there's another picture of a small buck.

I would have guessed German sheppards also. I guess it's possible, but I wouldn't think they'd be that high. I would estimate this being 6-8 miles straight up a mountain away from the nearest houses, and there are only a handful in that area.

There's been a couple reports of possible wolf sightings in the area, but I don't think anything's confirmed. I want to say they was a confirmation of a wolf sighting in Ferry County as being the first sighting of a wolf in WA State about 6 months ago. Ferry County is a neighboring county, so it's a possibility.

I was thinking maybe a wolvering or a fisher, but the fisher is about the size of a house cat and these animals look a bit larger than that. Wolverines are typically dark brown with yellow bands from shoulders to hips, which niether of these animals pictured have. Not to mention Wolverines have only a 6-10" tail.

Maybe someone else was on your mountain taking their dogs on a hike?

Please let us know if you see these critters again, I searched all over the net for pictures of wolverines and I am not 100% sure thats what they are... I think they looks like a small bear, dog, wolverines, wolf hybrid! the fact that they were running does not help. If that is a tail in the last picture and not the camera having trouble keeping up them that tail is too big to be a wolverine but the coloring looks good to be a wolverine.

Wolverines are not that tall to begin with, secondly they done travel in packs of 3 or even 2, only by themselves. So i think that they are also dogs, German Shepard's, first guess

I'm going with shepards as well. Seen quiet a few wolverines in the wild here in Alaska. Color is wrong and the tail. I'm 6' tall and this is a big male.

Wolves? To bad you weren't there with a gun. If wolves and you feel threatened then protect yourself!!
