Wasatch

I can't hardly stand waiting anymore. A little over a month left until I am chasing bugling bulls. Lets see some pictures of any wasatch bulls.

This is my dads Wasatch Bull from 2006.
I too drew this tag for this year, and can not wait.

Deadi, when you say that is your Dad's Wasatch bull from 2006. Which unit do you mean? The front side of the Wasatch is obviously not open to rifle hunters, was he just on the east side of the Wasatch? Or is there a limit area called Wasatch that I am not familiar with? And has anyone had any success hunting the west side of the Wasatch Mountains for decent sized bulls?

By the way, that's a sweet bull!

This was on the Wasatch Limited Entry Rifle hunt. Not the Extended Archery hunt. I figured that dibb03 was talking about drawing out for the LE Rifle tag. Seeing as how he said one and a half months left.

Any who. That was my dads bull. I hope I can get one as good or better than his this year. Sept. 13th baby. ****banana ****banana ****banana

Gotcha, sorry I just looked at the proc and saw the Wasatch Hunt. How is that one for drawing? Just like the rest? I've been putting in for Book Cliffs, I'm sure odds wise that is one of the tougher draws but hopefully will pay dividends. A buddy of mine drew out for the Book Cliff muzzleloader last year and missed on several hogs, but ended up coming home with a nice 330 class 6x6 bull. He is still kicking himself, but I keep telling him that I would be tickled to have taken a bull that nice. Good luck with your hunt! :thumb

DeadI, that is a nice bull your dad was able to kill. How is the scouting coming along, have you found some nice bulls? I finally got the ok from my Physical therapist to start hiking, so I have been up the past week almost every day and have found some good bulls. Bowtech43 the drawing for the Wasatch is pretty tough, my brother drew the tag this year with 12 points, but I was LUCKY enough to get an EXPO tag for this hunt.

Dibb03, Expo tag? You lucky dawg!!! That's is awesome, it's like a get out of jail free card or something. And you still keep all previous points because it's totally separate right? Congratulations and good luck.

Also Deadi, I'll try to find some photos of that Book Cliffs bull.

dibb03, you drew an expo tag as well!

That is awsome, that is what my tag is. And we still have points, I will have 7 going into next years draw. That gives me pretty good odds at geting another nice tag in the next few years. :thumb

DeadI, looks like we are in the exact same boat. I will also have 7 points going into next years draw, hopefully I can snag an archery tag in the upcoming years. These expo tags are awesome!

Sweet photos Antlers. :thumb

I will second the "you guys are killing me" comment! A limited tag and 7 points in tact. Can't do much better than that. Now bring home a couple hogs and it'll be a hat trick.

Here is my friend's Book Cliff bull from last year. I think he said it scored around 315-320, and like I said he missed on two or three that were bigger. He was 50 yards from a 360 bull but couldn't make a shot with his muzzleloader because of the thick oak brush, the animal finally scented him and bailed. This photo is from a cell phone, hope it shows up okay.

I could be wrong about the gross score of that bull could be up to 330. The funny thing was how my friend ends up with a nice bull yet it's sort of bitter sweet for him because he had several chances at this bulls older brothers. I keep telling him that this bull would be a dream bull for me. Anyway, his stories convinced me to put in for that unit, but I frankly think that pretty much all the limited elk units in the state are producing huge bulls. I'm hoping it continues to open up a bit as far as tags are concerned.

does you have a pic of that bull from the side. he looks a lot bigger than 320, those tines look realy long. do you have a pic from the side. tell him congrats.

as for my dads bull, he is right around the 340-350 mark, we have not had anyone put a tape on hime that really new what they were doing.

One more week and then it will be my turn. Its coming up quick.
