phesant hunter, Welcome to MuleyMadness!!!

Can't give ya anything specific but various hunting clubs and such provide pheasant hunting in Western WA via released birds. I am not too familiar with public hunting opportunities for them on the West side.
Where I am from in the SE corner of the state there is decent ringneck hunting and a decent amount of public land but they are beat hard and they are not in huge amounts.

I don't know where you'd find the combination of public land with "lots" of birds on it but you can still be fairly successful if you do your homework, find some failry secluded public land, and hit it hard. Just as on the Western side, there are game clubs/hunting clubs on the east side you can join too.

Just to follow up a bit on what AGC has already said, the eastern part of the state is the only place you'll find wild birds. Everything in the west is either planted by the state or hunting clubs. The state has a few management areas in the west, open to the public for pheasant. Last time I hunted up there, which was a few years back, the regs were more than a bit confusing. When you purchased your license you had to choose odd or even. That determined what time you could start hunting on the state land depending if the day was odd or even. I believe WA has some of the most confusing regs of all the western states. Still a bit miffed because I missed out on three days of elk hunting because I put in for a special draw and was penalized those three opening days because I didn't draw.
