Got out the first weekend of August scouting for deer for the upcoming archery deer season.
Ended up being a pretty good weekend for me in regards to sheds.
First shed I found was an elk antler just off of a forest service road...

I was out walking around looking for deer and stumbled upon this... It is old, but unique.

In my search for deer I stopped to glass an adjacent ridge for bedded deer. While glassing under a clump of trees I saw what looked like elk tines. The treeline was about 850 yds away, and I was using 15x binos. Wanting a little more detail to see if was really seeing an antler or a branch, I put my new Jim White Tripler on my binos. That gave me the detail needed to determine it was indeed an antler. Although excited, I decided to continue on down the ridge I was on before crossing over to the other ridge.
Once I crossed over and entered the treeline, I immediately found this...

I was pretty stoked! I started moving down the treeline towards the clump of trees where I had glassed up the antler. On my way over there I noticed something white above me. Walking up to it I almost stepped on another antler and then realized the white that had originally caught my attention was a stick.
Here is the antler at the bottom and the stick at the top of the picture...

I then walked over and found the clump of trees I'd spotted the antler by. I looked around, and there it was...

That was it for the day. Here is my pack loaded with bone...

Thanks for sharing!
The pack in the picture is a Badlands 2200. I really like it and it looks like they've improved upon it some for 2007.
The 2 smaller 4 points are a set.
