Well, I bought my apps

Well, I know that I am one of the few WA hunters here at MuleyMadness but I went and bought my license, tags, and applications again...now my wait begins. Boy, I sure wish ours were as early as a lot of ya. Our deadline for submission is 20MAY and we should have results around the end of June. This is the earliest they have ever conducted it though so I cannot complain too much...normally we wait until the end of August.

I put in for Moose, Sheep, and my special permits for deer and elk. Of course, my chances of drawing any of them are slim to none....but you will never draw if you don't try, right?

I REALLY, REALLY hate to say this but it looks like I am skipping my Idaho hunts this year. Since I do not yet have a job following my retirement (As you know, I have been selected for a position but am waiting on the call...and do not yet know when that will come) I decided to save the extra money and scale it back a bit. It kills me to do it but I'll be back out there next year FOR SURE!!!

Oh yea, I put in for the Blues. It is probably the #1 trophy bull area in the state...and the same area that our new state record came from just this last season. (You posted the pics last year)
Not to mention, they are pretty much right in my own back yard.

Yea, there have been some great bucks coming out of the state recently also. I am just hoping that the wolves don't mess that up. The population in the Methow (Cascades) is growing and we are also seeing increased numbers around Spokane. It is just a matter of time before they make it into the Blues too (They are already right across the Snake). There are folks that swear that they are already there and established but I spend a lot of time out there and have not seen or heard anything that would indicate to me that they are in there already. Unlike a lot of the "Sky is falling" folks, I tend to lead toward common sense and proof before I start to run around like a chicken with it's head cut off.
