Went elk hunting but only found sheds

I went elk hunting last weekend and got into some good remote country. No elk sightings that day but I did find 5 sheds. three of them were mostly buried with a few white points sticking up. They still jumped out at me like they were glowing hunter orange. I got my first elk the following day. I will post that on the elk hunting forum...

You are the man! What's your total count for the year now? I stopped looking for sheds months ago... I guess I shouldn't give up so fast!

Waspocrew, I think I am up to 118 sheds on the year but I haven't finished adding up my last few trips. I have been keeping a log of each trip with the date, area, miles hiked and what I found. I have 4 main areas that I go to and I know there are still lots of sheds laying around out there. I rarely see other other people in my two best spots until hunting season.
