Western Nebraska Muzzleloader

My buddy and I just booked a northwest nebraska mule deer hunt during muzzleloader season in December. The area appears to be a sea of grassland with some coulees and alfalfa fields thrown in. Has anyone hunted in this area before? Any hints on techniqes? Avg size of bucks? Any comments of suggestions are appreciated....
