What a year!

With 2010 gone I have been reminiscing about how fortunate a year it was for me. Thought I would share.

After 9 days of scouting and 13 days of hunting I was able to arrow this Colorado Rocky. My dad was with me for the entire hunt, making it even more special.

I wasn't planning on hunting deer this year but at the last minute my cousin gave me a second season voucher :)) I was lucky enough to turn up this guy. He is the best buck I've killed after 17 tags in Colorado.

Finally I decided to buy a third season OTC license. A big storm hit at the end of season. This bull was feeding with 8 others on a south facing slope at over 11,000'. I shot him at 30 yards with my old 270, wish I would have had my bow.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I am thankful to live in state that still has these great opportunities for the average working man. All three tags cost me a total of $330. :)

Now you'll just have to add taxidermy costs to that!! lol But that's usually something we all look forward to! Great season and congrats on some awesome animals!

The 3 Grand for a life size on my ram was painful, but I traded the capes off of my buck and bull for euros. I already regret not mounting that buck. Maybe someday I will have him mounted when I have the money.

Finally got him back. He didn't fit where I had originally intended him to go so he is a little hidden by the timbers. I couldn't be happier with the taxidermy work. I will be putting an addition on my home soon and I have a spot designed just for him.

What a year! The good news is you get lots of cool new mounts to put in your house. The bad news is you have a big taxidermy bill this year.

Thanks guys. You know what they say, better to be lucky than good. NVhunter, the bull went 307", he's 42" wide with 50"+ main beams but didn't have the tine length to score real well.
