What did you just spend four hours doing???

I just spent the last four hours hiking and starting to get in shape for this years hunts. And not just some nice easy going hike but truly preparing for the hunts, I spent time following animals tracks glassing and stayin as far from designated trails as possible. It was fun and great to get out! I didnt get lucky and run across any sheds like i was secretly hoping for but i almost completed my goal for next month already! It may be too soon to complete that goal though since i spent a good amount of time, once i got near my turn around point, wading through knee to waist deep snow! Some highlights from the day include going from followoing some deer tracks to following a bob cat/large domestic cat (which is possible cuz there are some houses nestled up against the base of the hills) track that was also following my deer. I happened to stumble into a small bowl which held alot of good sized turkey tracks and im now thinking ill take a turkey call up one day and see if i cant have some fun! Oh and probably the best part was watching the sunset and realizing i was half way up the mountain still and finding out the batteries in my flashlight were dead! Oh and p.s. it is alot colder than i had planned on at higher elevations with the wind blowing and the sun setting! :))

Sounds like a good time. That north wind today was bitter.

i believe you need to invest in a camera! heck i dont think anyone minds just looking at pictures of a person hike.

sounds like fun anyway, i just took the family hiking both days this weekend- and before anyone wise cracks me about the camera---- i bought brand new batteries, but from a little convinient store that was open at 6 a.m. , but they apperently didn't have the power to make my camera turn on??? i got home , bought some real batteries and it works just fine??? go figure, and my daughter found a 65-70 " 4 point shed, her first. pretty good for a 3 yr old :thumb

And ridgetop you got that right especially while sitting on the "ridge top"! i had planned to be chilly but once the sun went down it got alot colder fast!

and i actually took my camera up with me killerbee but only took two pictures. One was of the college and one was where i followed some tracks to, a deer had made a nice bed out of two rocks leaned up against each other. and about the camera.... did you have the batteries in the right way?! lol
