what do you think? A match?

Ok My son and I found these two sheds within about 50 yards of each other. They are real similar in color and the eyeguards are mirror images of one another. I have seen bucks that get injured and will grow an oddball antler on the opposite side of the injury. I am thinking that this is one of those cases. The spike side is way to big to be a typical young spike. What do you think? (???) The spike measures 17 1/4" along the outside.

I would agree with most and say yes. You are right, that spike is way too big to be a small yearling buck.

Bigbuck had a great idea. I also think they would look great on a reproduction euro skull!

This is my first time on the forums. I decided why not give it a try, seems like a good thing ya got going. I would say from the pics it's a set, but if you want another way to check other than antler characteristics you can flip them over and look at the burrs where they connect to the head and compare size shape ect.

Wow. That was interesting to see this pop up after so long.

Anyway I am pretty sure this is a match. Especially after the elk I got last year.

yeah idk they do look like a set for sure but to find out for sure just flip them upside down and look at their burrs for the circumferance and the extra bone sticking out on some of them ect. that will give you your possitive answer. Let us know what you find out if its a set or not, if they are thats a sweet find.

I would agree its a match.. I found a set kinda like that this year. I would have no way thought they were a match, other than they were layin 6 inches apart. Great Find
