I've been lucky enough to fish in quite a few different places around the globe (being in the Navy allows you to do that kind of thing). I'd have to say of all the fishing adventures I've had, the most memorable was marlin fishing off the tip of Baja California. Something about fighting a fish that outweighs you for over an hour and a half leaves a lasting impression. Me and a buddy caught three striped marlin that day ranging from 120lbs up to the only one we kept which weighed in at a grand total of 168lbs. Blues and blacks are the ones that get up over 1000lbs. I looked up the world record striped one time and I don't believe it went over 300lbs. Could be wrong. I'll have to post a pic up when I get back home which is less than two weeks away!!!

the funnest thing that i have caught on fishing tackle has to be a soft shell turtle about 15" in diameter. that bugger could fight. i generally only go after trout of all kinds.

Any TROUT for me also, but if I had to pick one I'd said BROOK.

Buck Fever
I would have to say the steelhead that come from the pacific ocean. Something about catching this fish makes me smile.. :)

Brooks are awesome to catch as well Brett do you fish the boulders?

Have fished the Boulders a few times, but not in several years.

Biggest Brookie I ever caught was from there.

I grew up catching brookies from the streams around my house so now I like to chase different things now. If it has spines or teeth to get back at you with them I'm all over it.

Mine would have to be the Lake Trout. Nothing like jigging in a lake (fishlake or flaming gorge) and not nowing if the next fish you hook could go 40+ lbs.

Love it.

Next to that is a acrobatic rainbow. but then again the 25lb chinook that i caught last year was an amazing fighter.

So I guess I should say my favorite is a swiming fish. LOL.

The boulders in the spring now that is some good fishing with brooks up to 5 pounds

I will echo the Lake Trout: Do 90% trolling for mine, only jig when the surface it dead calm. Nothing like going after 25lbs + fish on 12lb line, have been dragging T-60 flatfish behind a downrigger for a long time. Big lures = Big Fish

2nd Place would be a Splake, Hybrid between a Lake Trout and Brook Trout, need that cold deep water.

rather than a certain type of fish, i'm more of a specific environment. I love fishing Streams/Rivers! It's an absolute blast for me. Pristine mountain lakes give it a good run for a VERY close second place though :thumb .

But as of right now, Browns & Tiger Trout are my favorites - I can't get enough of any type of fish though.

P.S. A huge thank you and a merry christmas goes out to 9er. The guy is an absolute saint! Through PM's on this website (So same goes to you Brett =D> ) 9er gave me tons of specific info. on where I could start fishing to get back into it and what to use and how to use certain things in certain environments. Needless to say he's a fishing GOD and has really gotten me back into the sport big time! (I've broken a lot of personal records with catching tiger trout to learning to fly fish to catching record weights in several species... and it all goes out to you ole pal =D> =D> .

Nope no fishin for me. I have been way to busy at work since hunting. I do plan on some Burbot trips this winter but other than that I am done until soft water.

I agree on the Kokanee.....Great eating, especially pre-spawn.

Those big fat, beaver pond or mountain lake brookies are great to too. Those things have kind of disappeared in Colorado. The fat ones like Brett and his friend caught.

hmm blue gill are pretty fun to. Little fish but they put up a good fight

Ya they are disapearing in Wyoming too due to the G&F being proactive in the Colorado Cutthroat reintroduction over the past 7 or 8 years. The amount of brookies I have seen killed over the last few years would make a Brookie fan sick but as long as it keeps the Cutthroat off of the Endangered Species list we will be better off.
