What Kind?? How Much??

Hey guys, I am in the market for a trailcam. There are some awsome pics on this site. So I figure you guys are the experts to ask. So, what's the best camera for the price? What are most of you guys using? Thanks for any help in advance!

it just all depends on how much you want to pay and what exactly you are looking for in a cam. In my opinion there is not one cam that does it all. If you dont care the quality of the pics and are just wanting to see what is going by your cam Id go with a wildview 4.0 Its cheap ($100 AT SPORTMANS WAREHOUSE) and has a very quick trigger time. The moultrie brand cameras i have used seem to be good. They have better pic quality but the battery life on the older ones is horrible. The new model we got fixed that. I dont think the trigger time is as fast as the wildview though. The moultries run from about $150-$200. If you want quality pics i like the stealth cam. But its trigger time is slow.. It ran about $300.. Although I ve never forked out the money for a cuddieback I have read everywhere they are the best. But $400-$500 for a camera that could end up stolen (I hunt public land) just doesnt seem worth it to me!! Those are the cams ive used so hopefully that helps. It really just depends on what you want you wants the cams to do. I just want to see whats going by my ams and dont really care how high quality the photos are. So the moultrie and wildview work great for me. The wildview 1st models ive never used but my buddy likes his and its $65 at wal-mart.. Any other questions just ask.

heshen Thanks for the info! That's exactlly the type of info I was looking for! I don't want to spend a ton of money, because like you, I hunt public land, and worry about it getting stolen as well. I want a camera that will take good quality pictures, not necessarily the best, but, good. I was expecting to pay between 100-200 dollars for one. I would prefer at least a 4.0 megapixel. Thanks again for the info! That helped a bunch!

All I have ever used is the stealth cams. I set them on salt/ waterholes so the critters are around long enough that trigger times are not an issue.
They take fairly good pictures and are simple to use.
which ever kind you use I'd strongly sugest that you look on ebay.
The ones I thought were a great deal for $180.00 can be bought on ebay for $80.00 with a warrenty.
get several, they are a blast.
