Right now it is a germans shorthair, i had a english pointer up until last fall, had to put her down, she was very old and going down hill quick, had cancer, and would not have made it through this winter.

I will be using Jake for ducks but probably not Upland birds. I am having enough trouble finding time to teach him the in and out for retrieving Ducks

A couple of good books are Evan Grahams Smartwork series and the 10 Minute Retriever by the Dahls. Excellent step by step instructions for training your dogs.

Here's is my yellow lab, Cooper. We're pretty much done hunting for the season. Now it's time for Hunt Tests. We're working on his Master Hunter title this year...

That's a nice looking pup. As I mentioned in an earlier post, The 10 Minute Retriever is an excellent book. It's a really easy program to follow. I highly reccomend that book!

Kade - I used a shock collar on him once and promised to never do it again...LOL A group of coons tried to attack him, He was "down" for it and didnt start counting the coons. (4 all of which went over 15lbs) Well, after him not obeying, I hit him with that highest setting he jumped 10ft in the air and landed about 1/2 mile away pale as a ghost.. Hes been white ever since. But at least he aint Yellow!
