What size optics do i need?

Since i do the majority of my hunting in thick forest and swamps i have no need for big optics.

Now that i am coming out west every year to hunt i need to invest in some optics.

I was looking at the $700 range.

After reading post after post i am wondering. Should i get both a spotting scope and a set of binos?

For $700 you can get a pair of Zeiss classic 10X40's, pretty hard to beat those!
10's are a must out west. I'd highly recommend a good spotter as well if you can afford one.
As i always reccomend to everyone, buy the best that you can afford, use a "lay away" if you can't pull it all off at once. You definately get what you pay for in optics.

In my opinion "YES" you do need a pair of good quality bino's and a spotter. As stated above Zeiss is great quality. If you are looking to spend $700.00 total on a pair of bino's and a spotter then look into Vortex. If you can spend $700.00 a piece then look at Zeiss, Minox, Leupold just to name several. 10x are the most popular power out here, but I do get occasional request for a 12x and even a 7x.

That $700 budget can go along way toward getting you out fitted. You could start off with a set of Vortex Diamondback 10x42 ($210), add a 20-60x60 straight Vortex Nomad Spotting Scope ($330), and then add a Vortex ProGT Tripod ($130, but I have to check they lowered the price on it, but I don't have the file with me).

$670 gets you the whole shooting match delivered. All of the optics have a transferable lifetime warranty. And we offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

Please send me a PM if you would like some additional information.
