what tag should i take??

I have been thinking about this all day long, and im no closer in making my decision as i was when the day started so my question is.... When i draw the Sportsmans elk and deer tag, which one do i take, and why????? :-k

funny..... i have found myself pondering the same thing......

I've decided to keep the deer tag...... why? well...... because........ you simply cant buy a monster mule deer for a reasonable price........ seriously, what other tag gives you such great chances of killing a 230" NT buck? you just cant buy that hunt!!! (okay, maybe you can, but it's gonna cost $180,000 +)
Elk on the other hand..... can be bought. $30,000 will put a 400" bull on your wall.
So you see..... when I win the lottery..... I'll just buy all you guys an Elk hunt and we'll party on the mountain in september!!! And we'll all be happy I picked the deer tag!!!!! :thumb

Hahah... High hopes boys. I like it. I'd also have to choose the muley tag. 1 Because a true giant muley is a trophy I want more than any other in the world right now, and 2 because I have been putting in my points for elk so eventually I'll draw a good tag and get my 350-375" bull if not better

well------ i hate to be the ice breaker BUT................. i'm an elk hunter to the core! i dont know if it's because i have a couple "decent" muleies on the wall or what but the quest for a MONSTER bull is what drives me!!!! [ dont get me wrong , i have my points built up for a few awsome muley hunts also] :)

Muley for sure. If you wait long to draw a LE tag you have a good chance at a book bull.

If you can afford the tags why not take both? It's not like the two rut at the same time so you could have great hunting in the early fall for elk and great hunting in late fall for deer. What could be better?

I sent the DWR an email a couple of years ago asking if I put in for more than one tag was there a chance that I could draw more than one tag. The responce that I that I remember getting was that this draw was just luck of the draw and while the chance of drawing multiple tags are remote there is still a chance that it could happen. If you did draw two tags you would be the luckiest that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Good luck to you.
