when do Painguitch elk start talking???

When do the elk start talking in southern Utah....Painguitch area to be specific. Will the limited entry archery hunt be better that last week the middle of September when the spike hunters are done? Thanks guys and any advice on the area would be greatly appreciated.

I had a bull Bugle Sunday 8-15 on the Manti about 2pm.... :thumb And yes I know for a fact it was not a person.

 i agree. but if i remember correctly- he was preety ticked when it was all said and done. spike hunters ruined the whole thing(if my memory serves me correctly)

i'd bet he'd hate hunting in oregon..........

 I remember ox being peeved about the spike hunters. This year the state has shortened the spike dates so that from Sept 10th to the 17th the LE archers have a week to themselves. I still think that spike hunters shouldn't be allowed on LE units at all. Deal with elk crowding through through management tags after the LE hunts. A spike this year may have been the next 400+ bull. And an awesome management 350+ 5-6 beats a spike any day.
