Where does everyone buy their equipment?

Hello everyone,
First l want to say this is a great site and l look forward to using the valuable information contained inside.
l like the idea of researching equipment used by people who are un-biased. However, with all the great info, l am having trouble locating a few good sources where l can start purchasing stuff. l know there are sponsors on the site and l always want to contribute to the fellow hunter, but if you dont mind posting a few of your select websites or contacts for stuff, l would appreciate it. Thanks in advance :thumb

I have found Jakes Archery in Orem, and Humphries Archery in American Fork to be very knowledgable and helpful. A couple of great outfits.

To bad you missed the closing sale at Sportsmans Warehouse in Henderson. I cleaned up. lol
Other good places are
Sportsmansguide.com
cheaperthandirt.com
camofire.com
ebay.com
craigslist.com (Bought a wall tent with frame and stove for $150)
midwayusa.com
KSL.com (Classifieds)
and now like you, I have to go to BassPro in Vegas. They still have the best prices. Each time I buy a rifle, I can't seem to get anything at a lower price than what they have.

No l made my fair share of purchases :thumb
That is the main reason for this post. We finally got a Sportsmans here, then a year later they are gone. l just hate having to drive to Bass Pro anytime l want to look at something.

Yes, I agree, huntersfriend is good. I bought my first bow there with great results. I also learned a lot there when I was just starting out.

eBay. If you know the product or can find the manufactuers description and price you can you well being a buyer on eBay. I got both my bows there. A new in the box Mathews Classic (Whitetails Unlimited Edition) with quiver for $355.00 plus $20,00 shipping, was an incredible buy. Look around and pay attention to the sellers ratings so you don't get burned. Pay Pal will make sure you are treated fairly too. I got the Danner boots I'm wearing new for $110.00, retail is $240.00. Clothes too.

Have you dealt with Pacific Archery here in Las Vegas? He sure seems to be a peach of a guy. I'm going to buy my next bow from him.

If you want to shop somewhere local where you can feel and test out the equipment I would recommend Silver State Archery. Great guys there and always willing to give advice, tips and swap stories (when they are not slammed). Boomer is the guy to talk to. He's a precision archer and successful hunter. I just bought the new Hyot Alphamax from him. Price was very reasonable compared to your big sporting goods stores. They are located in Henderson so should be pretty close to you. Oh, they have a nice range there and weekly shoots

Pacific Archery on Schiff Drive are good peoples too. Dan runs the place and Charles, who works there, is ranked in the top 5 best archers in Nevada. I found a few of there items a little steep in price so you might want to compare before buying. Still, great people and shop so you won't go wrong buying from them either.

What is the number and address for Silver State? I'd be glad to check them out. You're right, Dan does seem to like his stuff. I guess he doesn't know that there is a Bass Pro in town lol I can be loyal to a place and don't mind paying a LITTLE bit more, but I don't like walking out thinking I needed a bottle of KY Jelly. Does Silver state have a web address?

Lightning Archery in Hurricane, Utah

- Mike Hershey is one of the owners, and when it comes to archery hunting he is one of the best. Last year he killed a 204 " mule deer on public land in Utah!

Tell ya what guys (and gals), what you need to do is get a cabela's visa credit card....even better, get your wife to get one and then she can use the points she accumulates to buy you stuff! :) Both of my parents have one, I have one, and my wife has one.....I'm set! I bought a Weatherby 270WSM Sub-MOA w/ a Leupold VXII 4-12x50 last year and only paid about $75 out of pocket after using my points. In my mind this just makes sense (sorry, not meaning to sound like a cabela's salesman!)

I have a Bass Pro near me (Houston) but I think they, as a whole, are going downhill. Their inventory selection both online and in-store seems to be decreasing in my opinion. Maybe I'm just getting picky with my gear and supplies, but it seems like half the time they don't have what I want.

182BC...4Now! - Credit card to Cabelas? Really??? That would assure that I follow the rest of the economy into bankruptcy if I were to get a Calebas credit card. That’s a recipe for disaster my friend.

Not if you pay the balance off each month. A lot of people do that you know? lol I agree though, people shouldn't leverage themselves in debt.

I have the cabelas credit card too. I agree it is a great deal if you can manage your finances!
As far as gear goes I shop all over the place!
