Which Henry Lever Action Would You Pick?

I'm thinking about buying a Henry Golden Boy just 'cause I've never owned a lever action rifle and I've always wanted one. I can't decide between the .22 S/L/LR or the .22 Mag or the .17 HMR. Which caliber would you all choose and why? Or would you rather have a different lever action?

I don't really need a new hunting rifle and was getting this mostly just for fun which is why I'm leaning on the Golden Boy and small calibers, but any insight is appreciated. I really don't know much about "old school" guns like Henry's or lever actions.

Thanks to all for any comments!

I would go with the .22 S/l/LR. Cheapest ammo and always available. Just my $.02

Ditto on the 22 choice, I personally would choose the marlin lever action 22, but I've heard good things about the Henry as well. In my experience, marlin makes the best lever guns in both accuracy and design. Any of these choices you make in 22lr will bring hours of joy for sure.-----shooter

My dad has the .22 S/L/LR, and then i have a buddy who has the .17 HMR, dont get me wrong both are great guns, and way fun to shoot, but i'd go with the .22, the ammo is s ton cheaper, the only difference really is the .17 is a little fast bullet speed, but good choice of gun!

Awesome, I was leaning towards the .22 anyways and now it's official. Thanks for your opinions guys, I'm looking forward to this one!

Springville, I'll have to check out the Marlin lever actions too, thanks for the suggestion. I'm still getting the Henry Golden Boy but if I like what I see in Marlin's levers maybe I'll get one of those too.
