which unit in Colorado

Hi All, I have aquired 4 preference points for Colorado Mule deer and am about ready to spend them. I am looking for a good deer as I have taken several small ones. I like to pack in a couple of miles to set up camp. Will consider an erly rifle season above timber line to a late november rut hunt. Any advise on the best units to apply for will be appreciated. unit 35 or unit 25 have huge bucks. real good area for big bucks. last year i saw 2 5X6s and 1 6X6 in the same area. that was in unit 35.

 IMO, some of the best buck units in the state are 54,55,551 & 10. To be honest almost every unit in the state of Colorado has nice bucks. Since we went with the 100% draw and cut the number of tags, our deer are looking great. :)

Thanks for the information. I have hunted the Crystal Creek drainage in unit 54 but it was several years ago. I have also heard good things about the Taylor Park area of unit 55. Are these still good bets for big deer or are there better areas in these units that I need to check out?

Like Hiker said, you can find big bucks in just about every unit in the state. We tend to hunt a couple different units every other year and have taken big bucks out of both.

I'm sure you already know this being as you have four pref points, but you do realize you will have to wait until next year to put in, right?

44 3rd rifle takes minium of 4 pp for non resident great unit

53,54,54 3rd rifle also great units 4-5 pp to draw
