Why so many permits in north utah for mulies?I saw on the website there was 6,250 first come first serve available on June 11th.Is it because there is a good population,or because no one wants to hunt there? Thanks!

IMO its a combo of struggling deer herds and lack of public property

The Northern Region has probably the most private land and the camping can be very limited.

Do you think if I went into box elder on some BLM land I could get away from the crowds if I walk a mile or so?

I think northern is always the last to sell out. A lot of private land, and very crowded public land. The season is very short for those kind of crowds.
