Wife's Drunk Again!

We lost the front tire on the new motorcycle at 70mph on the way back from Cabelas. We were on a 3 route elevated exchange when it happened. We slid across three lanes of heavy traffic and nearly went down. Missed several cars and stopped short of the cement barrier. My wife did a remarkable job of staying on the bike and helping control it and we both gave thanks to the Lord for His mercy because old folks bruise easily especially when they go under vehicles at 70. The whining would have been incredible. She recovered quickly though and the officer left her in the back of the cruiser so we could make this short video. He was a true professional, Polite and courteous. Arizona DPS is the finest. Here's a link to the video. Drunk Again!

geese mark! glad you guys didn't get hurt! with the price of gas, i've talked about getting a bike to go on my trips for bowseason, when i killed my bull i'd just have to make a trip back to get my truck( but they sure are cheap to drive long distances).
but the biggest downside is- if you get in a wreck, hit a deer, it's not a good deal AT ALL!

stay safe!

Killerbee; when I get it all decked out with the panniers and rack I'll take a photo of it. It'll carry more then you think.

Funny you mention that Brian because I've been lookin' for one for about two months now. Still lookin' for "that deal" that I can't pass up though.

Glad to hear that you two are alright. That accident really could have ended ugly!

Look on http://www.cycletrader.com there's some good deals from people trying to liquidate assets to make house payments etc.. I got this Kawasaki KLR 650 for $3600.00. The jacket and bags and gloves too. Only 2500 miles on it. Driven by a 3rd grade teacher. Really. He had a port installed to run his cell phone apps and GPS.

You are very very lucky to have come out of the accident as well as you did. losing a front tire @ 70 mph on a motorcyle sounds like certain death in most cases. Glad you're alright. You have an incredible sense of humor to be able to make the drunk again video. Most would be too traumatized or in too much shock to even think of taking the opportunity to use the patrol car for some fun. :thumb

The cycle shop was open today and the guy looked at it and said that the previous owner (he put 2500 miles on it) probably ran the tire at low pressure and spun the tube a bit. What happened is that it wrinkles the tube, folds it over, then eventually the stem pulls out and you get a sudden catastrophic failure when it gets hot at high speed. As for being traumatized I guess we're too old for that. Lots has happened to us over the years and we know you are at risk as soon as God forms you in your mother's womb.

I think that the man upstairs was looking after you and the misses Mark. Glad that nothing bad came out of it. Skin doesn't grow back as quick when you get to be our age.

I never think of the consequences and have trouble finding people my age to do anything with. My friends seem to have all settled into a mindset of trying to live safe enough to live as long and comfortably as possible and have died already. We are still very alive and I believe that's what God wants.
