Dang, and here I was thinking you were praising my outdoor abilities by singling me out for some kind of award or something and it turns out to be some kind of bug juice!

Iv'e always had problems with cramps ,when my son started playing football a few years ago he carried on the tradition. Used to take the usuall supplements, magnesium, calcium potassium and ate foods high in those minerals. Tried various sport drinks over the years then found Wilderness Athlete Hydrate and Recovery, with this product, proper diet and conditioning cramps are a thing of the past. It's in my camel back when I'm on my mountain bike, dirtbike, hiking, hunting and in my water bottle at work durring the summer. Check it out on line , it works for us. :thumb http://wildernessathlete.org/index.html

Thanks for the report. I almost bought some last year, but didn't know enough about it and passed.

I took a long look at thier website to try and educate myself on it.

Quite frankly, although I am sure that their products are great, they are really no different than a lot of the stuff already on the market. They just market themselves to folks like us vice the distance runners, cross-training athletes, etc. Not a bad way to go really since I can't think of anyone else who uses the "outdoor" angle to market thier nutritional suppliments.

I work out quite a bit, run between 5-10 miles 5 days a week, and do a lot of strength/resistance training and use a wide variety of vitamins, etc. I have my favorites but quite frankly there are a lot of great products out there for folks looking to improve their health, physical fitness, and posture. Of course, there are a lot of products out there that really don't help at all regardless of what they say...it's up to you to do your homework.

My advice...find what works for you and make sure you mention what you are taking to your doctor next time you have a visit. If it works for you (i.e. Malloy and his mention of craps, etc) then go for it. Just make sure you know what you are putting into your body.

Malloy: You mentioned sports drinks. I just want to throw one thing out there...and it is just AGCHAWK'S personal opinion so take it for what it's worth. 99% of those sports drinks have WAY TOO MUCH sugar and you end up taking in way more calories than you realize. If you eat properly, take a multi-vitamin, and stay healthy you don't need them. Again, I work out a lot and never touch the sports drinks...but that's just me. I do however add flavor tablets to my camel pack because warm water when mountain biking/hiking tastes aweful...LOL. I also drink a protien suppliment shake every day because of the amount of cardio I do. This helps battle the metabolization of lean body mass.

Agree with you on all points. Popular sports drinks do have way to much sugar in them, thats why I started researching other products. There is no substitute for proper nutrition and conditioning including stretching!,I use hydrate and recover as a kicker to fill in any voids I may have in my diet. And while warm water will keep ya alive,as you said, it dosen't taste all that good.

Right on Malloy. The tablets I use in my camel backs are flavored and have electolites in them also for an added boost. Pretty much what sports drinks say they supply you without all the sugar.

I just wanted to add one more thing for folks. Do not throw your money into a black hole hoping to get "healthier". Like Malloy said, there is NO SUBSITITUTE for exercise and eating right. There is nothing wrong with suppliments (Again, I use a protien suppliment not for body building but to make sure I am not metabolizing lean body mass due to my cardio regime) but do not drop a whole pay check every month on unnecessary stuff.
