Winter 2004-2005

If I could get Muleymadness to upload the photos so that everyone can enjoy some of the local animals running around Jackson Hole this winter. I have some more photos and as soon as I get them developed I would love to put them out there for you guys to view.

The first two shots are from a deer that has been wintering in town here in Jackson. He is a pig, approx.32-33 wide, heavy non-typical frame. He is not very tall but the mass will kick this deer into the low 200's. He is running around the mountain with two or three other pretty impressive bucks. Unfortunately these photos were not mine but another guy from a different website. I did however get some photos of this deer the other day along with many photos of his buddies hanging around.

The next three photos are of another deer hanging out in a undisclosed spot. I will however not give the location of this deer for hope of finding him next hunting season. He has a gross typical frame of somewhere in the neighborhood of high 180's to low 190's. I have been watching him for three to four weeks. if this deer has a good growing season i think he will make the minimums established by b&c.

the last photos is the deer i shot this past hunting season with my dad.

The top two deer I am assuming that no you can't hunt, they are basically in someones back yard that I was pretty much trespassing on just to get the photos. The other week I went up to the guys door to ask about the sheds. Things like do you get the sheds, what do you do with them if you do. And here is what he had to say. I don't collect them but sell them each and every year at the Jackson Hole antler auction, making dang good money in the process. I asked if he would mind if I looked for the sheds and in a nice way he told me to get lost. So I am assuming that asking permission to hunt him would be a waste of your time. There are alot of other homes in this sub. but the deer was always in his back yard. The next three pictures with the snow, is on public general area. And I will keep you informed on whether or not I take him. We have already been watching him this spring and have a good idea on where he hangs out, assuming he doesn't disappear later in the summer. I wanted to watch him because although I don't think he would have gone b and c this year I think he will be close next season, if so he better watch himself because I will be looking for him. Plus I have a roommate that has never taken a deer, and he reallly wants this deer so either way he is in trouble.

Great pics! Looks like the coming season holds some promise for you. Just curious about your rifle. Looks like a bull barrel? How much does that thing weigh? Good luck on bagging your buck!

The barrel on my rifle looks alot bigger in the photo than it really is. The rifle is a brand new rifle, this was the first animal taken with it. It is a Remington .7mm Ultra Mag with a synthetic stock and stainless barrel. Best purchase I ever made, shells are expensive and hard to find but a nice rifle none the less.
