Wolf Hunting in Utah 2013?

On the Utah RAC agendas coming up will be a proposal to set a fee of $20 for residents and $80 for non-reseidents to buy a wolf tag in 2013. The proposal caps wolf permits for residents at 200 and non-residents at 20.

I thought this was interesting and thought some of you might be interested in it as well.

They should bring a bounty back on them to encourage everyone to buy a tag and hunt them :-k

That's interesting... Do they know the estimated wolf population now and what it will be in 2013?

It's my understanding the official take from the DWR is there are NO established packs in Utah, but there have been a few wuffs seen here and there. The DWR is mandated by Utah law to make sure no packs are established in the area where wolves have been removed from the ESA, a small area in the extreem north of the state. IMO, this is something the DWR is doing to help keep any wolves from establishing themselves in the state and making a few needed dollars at the same time.
