WOW factor buck.

Check out this beast...and the story.

I bought my bow in January of this year and was able to take down my first big game animal ever. It turns out it will be a Colorado State record. I had been scouting the area and had found some really nice 5x5, 6x5 deer that I would have been more than happy to shoot. With opening week arriving I found myself on top of the deer I had found while scouting and I missed two 40 yard shots. Frustration and more misses followed, then as rifle season came around the deer I had been chasing were shot. When my season opened back up, I went out on a Friday that we didn''t have school and got in a 5x5 muley that was in full rut. He was chasing a doe in an old abandoned farm place and gave my a twenty yard shot. But fate would have it I would miss him completely. After a restless night I was bound and determined to shoot the buck I had missed earlier and gave up my opening day of pheasant hunting to go back out. Fate again set in and i couldn't find the deer I had missed on Friday. As I was about to give up I caught the glimmer of a deer herd and within it was a monster! All I could do was watch in awe as he moved into a small crick bottom with a couple of does. 5 hours later, 3/4 of a mile of ground covered and 200 yards of it i had to belly crawl, I was within 60 yards of this thing. He spotted me and set a spike buck at me to check me out, then three does. They all spotted me and passed within 15 yards of me before walking off. The big guy just stood there at 60 yards staring at me while the other deer checked me out. Then he laid down. Patience and persistance finally paid off after about 30 minutes he got up and started to follow a doe. She stopped about 15 yards away from me and he stopped at my 35 yard reference point. The arrow connected and I found myself standing over a 225 in non-typical muley. My first deer ever killed will probably be the biggest one I ever shoot in my lifetime but thats a problem i can handle pretty easy.
