WTB.22 scope

hey, i want give my nephew my ruger 10/22 for christmas, but i would like to get a scope for it before i give it to him.
i can get a simmons 22 mag scope for 40 bucks, but if someone has a better option out there -let me know.
i cant spend a bunch, this economy is a killer- but i'd like to give him a decent setup- and simmons/ or tasco would be fine if you have a spare laying around

I used to have a scope on my 22. Let me go through all my stuff I might still have it laying around. I will let you know what I find later today.

How about a Bushnell 3-9 sportview? My dad has some scopes that he asked me to list on the forums to try and sell. There is a silver one and a gloss black one.
