Has anyone ever hunted in Areas 77,78,80 or 83?
Im looking for a good trophy potential area with a good amount of public land. How are the numbers in these areas?
I would kinda like to stick to this area since we plan on moving close to this area (more time to scout).
Ill be applying as a non-resident "special" draw, so the odds are decent.
Thanks for all the help.

Those units have historically had a lot of antelope in them. This winter has put a lot of snow down around that area so numbers could be down. Or not. It's too early to tell. There is plenty of public land in at least a couple of those areas. I couldn't tell you about trophy potential. I don't hunt horns.

Kinda eyeing area 78. According to the Eastmans MRS section its 80% public land with good access and good trophy potential. Just making sure the 80% isnt like national forest. Seems like a big area to only have 75 tags.

BLM land and mostly wide open. If you can draw a tag you should have an excellent hunt.

Thanks Snake River. Out of those 4 which would you choose and why?

I've never hunted any of those areas, so I'd just roll the dice on it. I've driven through on the highways. Mostly I'd just look for the most BLM land in the unit that I could access and then go for it. Remember though that I don't care about horns. If I stumble on a good set he's down but otherwise, I just like a good hunt.
