Wyo. Wild Bison Priority

Well I was close #55 But if FWS makes up it's mind on when they want to cut the Grand Teton herd by 500 animals. I can still end up with a Bull.

Friend at work did get a tag and his 14 year old son is just 5 out. if they don't raise the number of bulls they want taken. there's 150 more bison in the herd so the kids got a real good chance.

This seems like an interesting topic, but for the people outside of Wyoming it's pretty hard to know what you are talking about. I'd love to hear a little more about it, for those of us that aren't familiar with what they are trying to accomplish with the buffalo in that state.

Is the Grand Teton herd the one they got drawn for and you have (apparently) a priority number for, or are there two herds and they are giving permits for one and thinking of giving permits for the other? Are they trying to get rid of all of one or both of the herds? Please explain a little more, and pretend (not really pretend though!) like we don't know anything about the subject (because I don't). Thanks.

Larry, I'm in the same boat as stickflicker. I'd love to hear how WY does the buffalo hunt.

The apps go in during Jan. Non res is 17$, the will give you a priority number . if you # makes you elgable you have to choice to buy the lic. it steep at 2,101. but it's one of the few place you can hunt wild bison. These do count B&C. the kill succes rate is all most 100% for bulls, Cows are much lower because they tend to stay on the park side were you can not hunt.
Check out the wyo non-res app. booklet page 43.

270 i'm pressed for time I'll get you a better lay of the hunt later.
