Hello Everybody,
Another year and a second trip to Wyoming has ended in another sucessful hunt.....Last year as some of you recall allowed my youngest son to bag his first mulie and me my first buck lope....My middle son John went with me this year and both he and I bagged our first mulies..I also bagged another pronghorn.....The weather prior to the elk opener kept us from doing the scouting we needed to do for my cow elk tag so we never did hunt for the elk....John sprained his ankle upon arrival at his 2x3 but the pain didn't show as he was very happy with his first mulie.....John used a beaver chewed stick as a cane to climb out of the canyon as his old man packed the meat out on his back.....My first mulie came in the form of this nice 4x4 after passing on 4 smaller bucks....Spotting him while glassing and a two hour stalk brought me within 30 yards of him on the slope far above in the backgroud...He stopped less than 100 yards from me where a 120 grain 25-06 Nosler partition found the base of his neck.....After field dressing the 500+ yard drag down the slope was a breeze compared to packing John's boned out buck uphill...
I wish to thank everyone on this board again that has helped us prepare for our Wyoming hunts these past two years.....
Randy
P.S. Can anyone tell me the name of the brush on the hill in my photo?...It wanted to tear my clothes off!
