In all seriousness, best of luck on your yote day out. We all need to thin the coyote population. I look forward to some success photos. I hope to thin the yote population on Jan 2nd, and I hope you have to work that day. :))

Ya haven't decided weather I want to go out ice fishing or tote hunting this weekend but for sure wanna get out

Maybe ice fishing? We ended up going out on jan 2nd. We went to a spot that has never failed us. We didn't call anything in or see any. First time we've every gone to this area without seeing at least 6-7 coyotes. I wonder if it's a slow year (down cycle) or if the strange weather is affecting the numbers. Maybe it's a lack of fawns to eat as they have been thinning out the deer herd. :-k

I don't think it's a slow year. I've seen more coyotes in more places this year than I have in a long time. I've been out a few times and have had quite a few stands blown by people. People are everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if your honey hole is being hunted by others. I've even tried private property that I thought that I was the only one hunting, and found out other wise. Too many people out educating coyotes would be my guess.

I called two in this morning, they came in from the right and I got busted. They seen me turning to take a shot and they split back into the thick brush faster than I could get'em. Now they're educated!!

 Hate when that happens.

Went out the other day. Called two in, a buddy missed the shot. They came in hard on him and he misjudged the distance. #-o First class education!! But it was way awesome to watch it all play out. We got the male's attention right now, and he was "screaming" back at us for about 45 minutes. I watched him circle out away from us, pick up his partner, and then work back to us. WHen they decided to come at us they came a running. Had two others call back, but didn't like what they were hearing and wouldn't come in.
