Remington 870 Express Mag, when I'm feeling old school I use my Stevens double side-by-side, both 12 ga. I've got a few others that I have yet to even shoot.

I started with a remington 870 12 gauge. Last year I bought a Benelli super Black eagle and I love it! I've heard the II's are even better so I might have to check them out

mossberg model 835 ulti-mag pump. I have never had a problem with a mossberg so when the new ulti-mag came out in 3 1/2 inch I had to get it.I love it bought it new the year they came out and have used it since.I've probably ran a couple thousand rounds through it without a glitch.

I started off with a Winchester 1300. Then I found a Browning A-5 that was set up for waterfowling and I swear that it could shoot around corners. :) Took those two guns and traded them in for a Winchester Super X2. Gun shot great but I had a ton of troubles with the action repeating. Dumped that gun and picked up a couple of Benelli Nova's. Have loved these guns ever since. Of course all of this was when I was single and I don't seem to be quite the gun swapper that I used to be. :)
Guns were nice but they don't compare anywhere near to the family and I'm not running short on guns by any means.

I've used many shotguns over the years and my favorites were all SxS's. Now I use an 16ga AyA Matador for about everything. I also have one in 28ga, 12ga and 410. Have an Ithica mod 37 16ga I really like and a 20ga Browning Citori that my son has swiped.

I've got an 12ga 870 SuperMag 3.5", wood stock. I like the durability and for where we hunt my shotguns take a beating. It's muddy, iced over at times and with a dog in and out of the water all day my guns take a lot of abuse.

While I do appreciate the nicer OU's and SS's, I'm hesitant to take a really "pretty gun" out in the marsh. The marshes we hunt are really high in alkali and will strip the finish in a hurry, even the blueing!

I also use my 870 for chukar, turkey and sometimes quail, although I prefer a 20 OU for quail.

I shoot a 12ga A-5. Since some of you also have these is it noraml for them not to work with Skeet/Dove loads. Mine works fine with high brass but will not kick out the low brass.

I've never owned one of them but I seem to remember that the older recoil operated one's hade to have a deal on the tube reversed to shoot light loads. I'm not so sure about the gas operated one's.

on my older browning A5 there is that problem every now and then . on my newer A5 there is not , but i do not use my old A5 for hunting or skeet shooting any more . more of a collectors item to me since it was made in belgium .

I shoot a franchi-auto loader as well as an old Beretta that I re-conditioned (resanded the stock, reblued barrel) it has a fixed 30 in. barrel on it. I also have a 870 20 ga. pump. It is tough to beat the relibility of those 870's. I am looking at getting my son the Benelli Nova youth model in 20 ga. I am currently coveting and one day hope to own a Benelli SBE II!!! (best of the best in my opinion) I am also looking at purchasing a reasonably priced quality over/under can't decide if i should go 12 or 20 first. :thumb

i would say take a good look at the beretta Extrema 2. from what I've heard beretta bought the company benelli and put the best of the SBE and the best of the A 390's into 1 gun and the great Extrema 2 was born. thats just what i heard i could all be a bunch of Bull. not sure

The Extrema 2 is much heavier, action is not as smooth. The Benelli is Inertia operated and has the comfort teh system, the Extrema come with the Kick-off, but you have to make sure you purchase the one with the Kick-off they make it with and without it, the one with it is about 300 bucks more.
You can break the SBE II into about 4 pieces and then back to clean.

Beretta did puchase the Benelli company, but they are still seperate lines of shotguns.
The SBE II has a slimmer grip and fore end and I like that.

They are both very well performing shotguns, the cycle rates are the same. I like the inertia driven system better than the gas operated, but alot of it just breaks down to personal preferences.

Thanks all will look into it. Mine was made in Begium too. It is so beat up from 3 generation of use that it is not in the best shape.

so one of the bad things about getting opinions is that people always talks about theirs being the best! this is to show I acually have both guns in the max4 camo and can compare them as much or more then anyone can. I'm definatly not saying that the benelli is not a great gun . the action might be a little faster { but I dont think anyone I know would ever be able to pull the trigger fast enough to tell the differance} but their is no question the recoil system on the beretta is hands down better!! in fact I dont think the recoil system { pad} in the benelli is very good at all. get a good limb saver and it would do better. the beretta is based on the A391 wich is no doubt one of the most proven guns out their !!and the weight differance, if you closewd your eyes try to tell them apart!!! its 3 oZ. HEIVIER that is rediculous if you could tell the difference!! the beretta cost about $250.00 more { with the recoil system} but if your considering bying one then you plan on spending some mulla!! but the benelli is a good gun, by far the most marketed gun out their, just go to your local walmart they will even tell you it's the best they sell!! :)) but side by side their is no comparison the beretta is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seven or eight of our guys in our crew shoot Benelli. I shoot a Nova and love it. It is about half and half Nova and SBEII and one SBE.

Well I gave my 870 to my son . The grip was too small for my big hand and the trigger guard would hit my finger every time I shot a 3'' shell. After looking at a lot of pumps , the one that felt the best and had room for my hand was a Browning BPS in Duck blind camo. This gun is awesome . The first time out shooting clays I hit 45 out of 50 .
