first check minimum draw weight for your state. I know alot of states have a minimum draw of 40# for big game. Both bear and mathews make very nice youth bows that can grow with the kids. My daughter has a bear that is both adjustable in draw and weight to grow with her.The shop where I got it said unless she really wants another bow later she really won't ever need to get another.it is set at 42# and still shoots at 250 feet per second. very nice bow.

But truthfully go to a REPUTABLE shop and find a bow that fits and that he can draw and hold comfortably. some shops also have used youth bows that are very good and affordable.

good luck and I'm sure some of the great guys on here will have some more ideas that will help.

IMO the Diamond "Edge" bow the best youth or light weight out there right now. I have seen it out perform a few of the more expensive bows.

For the price for a youth shooter you really can't beat it.

Sorry to get back two days later, but yes I do. It is 299.99

Great deal for the bow.
